Meet our Team of Agents

Martin D. Cates is a seasoned Broker in the Midcoast. After receiving his real estate license in 1993, Martin has worked as an independent contractor ever since. He has held managerial roles with other non-franchised agencies in the past and opened the doors of Cates Real Estate in February of 2012.  He has worked 20+ years in the real estate business, specializing in consulting relative to real estate, process management, business start up and location, as well as life transitions during tough economic times. Martin resides in Camden with his wife Edna and their two children Aimee and Rylan. While not in the office he can be found grabbing a coffee at one of his favorite local coffee shops, involved with local economic development groups or studying for his upcoming fantasy baseball trade. Nicole "Nikki" Bland joined Cates Real Estate in April 2012.  Nikki has her Brokers license and has been a full-time agent since April 2008.  She has also received both her Accredited Buyers Representative (ABR) and Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES) designees.  She is Past President of the St. George River Council of the Midcoast Board of REALTORS, serving two terms in 2010 and 2011, Midcoast Board of REALTORS President 2011, Director of the MAR Board in 2010-2011, REALTOR of the Year for the St. George River Council in 2012, and acting member of the Program Committee.  Nikki resides in Camden with her husband TC and four children Todd, Ian, twins-Brian and Alyssa and adorable cats Ringo and Libby.  Living in town gives Nikki the opportunity to be part of the community and frequently enjoys the eight minute stroll to Main Street with family, to meet up with friends.  Nikki is a positive thinker, people person.  When not in the office she can be found involved with community activities or out enjoying the outdoors, hiking and camping with her family.
